A very nice private hospital with experienced health workers.
My fit and independent elderly mum spent 2 months here, after she suffered a brain injury due to a fall at home.<br>Within a few days, she developed bed sores, they clearly were not moving/turning her as often as required.<br><br>She had an NG tube for feeding, after she regained consciousness, this was taken out without first establishing if she could even feed at all by mouth. Of course, she could not feed orally, and the doctors kept saying, it's not a big deal, give it time, she will feed. She never did so, after a few days, they had to reinsert the NG tube, this was agonising for my mum and everyone present.<br><br>She also could not speak, no one told us why. We asked for a speech therapist, they said she didn't need one.<br>She had built-up fluid in her chest, we had to complain that she looked bloated before they intervened.<br><br>The neurosurgeon even discharged his duties, he said she had improved, but she was not speaking or eating.<br><br>They even billed us for a PEG operation to go ahead on someone who wasn't responsive. Thankfully, they were unable to go ahead because the surgeon was ill.<br><br>The last week of her life, she was conscious but not awake, they could not tell us what the issue was. They could have told us that she was in a critical condition and at the end of life, but no, they kept draining us of money with no information.<br><br>They performed CPR twice on an 82 year old woman the day she eventually passed. This is shocking to say the least. I can go on and on and on.<br><br>My point is, if you care about your loved ones, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO ST NICHOLAS HOSPITAL, LAGOS. They will drain you of all your money and your loved one will still pass away.<br><br>It was a terrible experience that we as a family are still unable to recover from.<br><br>There is no shame in saying, this injury is beyond our scope, take her elsewhere, or this is the real situation. Instead, they kept giving us false hope, whilst draining us of millions of naira.<br><br>Some of the nurses were not kind, only a few of them showed kindness and compassion. This is very sad.

Please be careful about using this hospital. They are not as equipped or specialized as they claim to be. In 2002, it was only by the mercy of the LORD that my mom survived. Otherwise, this hospital would have ended her life.<br><br>My siblings and I spent over 1 million naira there. They cut my mom’s stomach from the middle down to her private area and gave us vague explanations, never telling us what was actually wrong with her.<br><br>Later, I brought my mom to my primary care doctor in the USA. He was shocked and asked why she had been cut open like that. When I gave him the Saint Nicholas medical reports, he reviewed them and said, “They did all this because of appendicitis.”<br><br>I couldn’t believe it. He told me that if this had happened in the USA, I could have sued them heavily. In my opinion, they do not know what they are doing, and many Nigerians have died unnecessarily due to a lack of medical knowledge and expertise at such places.
I have been treated by these guys for a year now, and they have a professional approach built from years of experience. I would gladly put them in the top 5 hospitals here in Lagos.
You want to visit this hospital? Leave home 6 am and be expecting to leave 9pm. No sense of urgency at all. Today now I have been here since 8:12, till now 11:14 I have not seen a doctor and we are less than 6 at the reception. This is bad honestly.
Sincerely this has to be the worst hospital I have visited. No sense of urgency. We had to wait and wait. The same doctor having a procedure is the same doctor we have to see for consultation thereby keeping so many patients waiting. It honestly feels like they are understaffed. 0/10. 0/10
This hospital has demonstrated a very high level of unprofessionalism. I called ahead to book an appointment with a neurologist and was given a confirmed date.<br><br>On the scheduled day, I arrived at the hospital early, only for customer service to who stated that he could not come in because it was raining where he lives. I was then told to reschedule my appointment.<br><br>This was extremely disappointing and inconvenient. I made arrangements and left my home early, only to be turned away due to reasons that should not affect a scheduled medical appointment. Excellent! Five star rating all round. From the helpful security at the entrance to the prompt customer service executives at the front desk customer care was exemplified. Despite huge crowds, queues moved smoothly showing an operations system well designed and working effectively. The medical officers were thorough, knowledge able and detailed in their examination and history taking. The phlebotomist is a consumate professional. Everyone showed dedication to duty and an interest in patient welfare.
