I had an extremely disappointing experience at Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi. On two separate occasions, I arrived in an emergency, only to be told to go back home and return the next day—without any immediate medical attention or medication to manage my condition in the meantime. This is completely unacceptable for a hospital that should prioritize patient care.<br><br>Beyond the poor medical response, the customer service is very terrible. The representatives lack empathy and do not seem to understand that every patient who walks into a hospital is in need of care. It’s clear that the staff either need proper training or should be replaced with professionals who actually prioritize patient well-being.<br><br>If you’re in an emergency, I would not recommend this hospital. They need to seriously improve both with their medical response and most especially their customer service(front desk representatives)

All they care about is money.<br>The doctors don’t even know what they are doing. I brought my mom her for treatment and they kept giving her blood without a final diagnosis.<br>The nurse giving her the blood doesn’t even know the blood type she’s giving her and the blood type of the patient.<br>When you begin to ask questions, the doctors start avoiding the patient’s family.<br><br>This is the doctor you should avoid there:<br>Dr Nife Adedeji.<br>She’s very clueless

I visited Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi for the first time on 17 November 2024 to see an ENT specialist and a GP.<br>I liked how the hospital is situated in a serene environment. The front desk officer who attended to me was polite and very helpful. The doctors were also polite and helpful.<br><br>Here’s where the issue lies. I was asked to do two tests: full blood count and malaria test. After taking blood sample, the lab tech informed me that typically it takes an hour for the results to be out but their machines were undergoing maintenance and so it would take longer than an hour for me to get the result.<br><br>I was asked to drop my contact with the front desk officer and a doctor would contact me later that evening or the next day at the latest, to review my result. As at today, 22 November 2024, I’m yet to receive my test result and the promised call from the hospital. Several times, I’ve dialed the number I was given but it has failed to connect. The longer it takes to get the result, the less I trust the veracity of such result.<br><br>I’ve decided to go elsewhere to see a doctor and run the tests. Do better Lagoon Hospital!

The worst private hospital. I had a terrible birthing experience here years ago, and I still randomly remember it sometimes and wish I had sued the hospital. Everyone kept telling me that since my baby and I were alive, I should let it go, and I did.<br>But I regret not taking action, because there was no accountability despite so much negligence. That’s one of the biggest issues with private hospitals in Nigeria. All they want is to keep milking & making money/profits & no care about human lives.<br>I received zero empathy from the nurses & midwives. I even remember one of their name, Patricia. It was a truly horrible experience. Thank God we survived anyway.

Worst desk service I have seen in my life they will see you waiting there but will not talk to you and they don't follow the rule who came first they just choose the person they like when you try talking to them they ignore you very rude and the pharmacy will wait all your life before getting your drugs I regret coming to this hospital it's like a market the 1 star I don't have choice i need it to post the ikoyi branch

I had a generally positive experience at the hospital. The environment was clean, neat, and serene, which helped to reduce anxiety. However, the customer service, particularly during the registration process, was slow.<br><br>On the other hand, the doctors I interacted with were exceptional. They were attentive, empathetic, and provided excellent care.<br><br>As I delivered at the hospital, I had interactions with several midwives. While some fell short of expectations, a few standout individuals provided outstanding care and support.<br><br>Overall, there's room for improvement in certain areas, but the hospital's strengths, particularly in terms of doctor-patient care, make it a solid choice

Dr Abayomi Opeyemi Babatubde a gynecologist in lagoon hospital almost killed me. He stalled my life for almost 3 months I began to question God if this was how I was going to Continue to bleed to death. Until I sort another opinion at another hospital and I was told in details the cause of the symptoms and what would be done to stop the bleeding completely. Mind you I started consulting with a new hospital in lekki on the 2nd week in January and I had a diagnostic hysteroscopy that restored everything Dr Abayomi pope yemi babatunde was saying he his not convinced that I needed a surgery but rather I should continue to take all the hormonal medications he placed me on. All he knows how to do is CS or open myomectomy nothing more. No further knowledge on how to properly treat someone with hormonal imbalance and what diagnosis test to run. Most of the test I did in lagoon I did them on my own or I insist that he request I do them. The only test he willingly told me to do was a prolactin test, pcv. Every other test I went to mecure to have them done then bring it to lagoon for him to review them. And you're a medical doctor? Now, moving on. The time I was still consulting with Dr Abayomi opeyemi babatunde I kept telling him I feel a pressure around my cervix and when ever I was to pee and poo I literally feel my cervix at the tip on my vaginal. I'd text him what I had just experience he'd say that my pelvic wall. On many occasions I had told him to open me up in his office and check what could be causing the pressure I am feeling and the discomfort whenever I sit down, what he says is that there was no need I should continue taking the levofem. This was where I started to loose hope and faith in him and I knew he doesn't know what he's doing and the best thing he would have done wolas to referre me to see another specialist. Now fast forward to first week in January 2026 my last consultation with him I told him I sort for a second opinion at a other hospital because my family are very worried for the state at which I keep losing blood with all the medication and nothing was working. He got angry and was saying all sorts in his office like i bruisedhis ego whereas i wws doing everything possible to survive. Then, later that night he sent a text saying since I went else where the Dr should treat me and he's opting out. And the period I was bloated everywhere and I was always having. Cramps because that was the menstrual symptoms I told him and asked him when to reduce the medication so as to enable me menstruate but he chose to ignore me because I went somewhere else. I decided to Rob his ego and told him the other Dr said I should continue with his prescription. That was how I get him to tell me how to reduce the medication and the once to take for my period to come. I'd take you aback. I went back to the other hospital on the day of my diagnostic hysteroscopy, when the Dr opened my cervix he said a fibroid was sitting just at the tip of my cervix the took it out and also took out some polyps then send it for a biopsy. that was how my life have changed for the better. My health has been restored. But Abayom opeyemi babatunde waste and exhausted my HMO (that expires in june) between Nov and January bombarding me with medications and hospital admissions using my life as an experiment. I have been paying millions up on millions at the other hospital this is something Axa Mansard would I've cover for even if I have to top up by paying out of pocket all thanks Dr abayomi opeyemi babatunde. Imagine a told telling a patient that 'THIS YOUR UTERUS IS STUBBORN O' or was it when he also said 'LET ME NOT VEX AND PRESCRIBE ZOLADEX FOE YOU O' when the actual cause for the continously bleeding was just sitting right at the tip of my cervix. Or was it when he also started texting me he'd take me out for a drink after I stop bleeding. How unprofessional can you be as a medical Dr.<br><br>Lagoon hospital is just for your money and a PR name. Nothing more.

Terrible follow up and customer services. I did some blood test at the hospital, made the complete payment of almost N400K, butnever got the results back in either email, or phone number. Use at your own peril. it hs been over 2 weeks since the tests were taken. Shame on som called Nigerian Private hospital.
