In July 2017, I started a small travel blog called IK Hotel and Tours out of my passion to help travelers to Nigeria with reliable information about certain tourist destinations in Nigeria.
I had been privileged enough to have either worked or lived near some of the most popular tourist destinations in Nigeria. So I have always had first hand information about these destinations that I felt could be of help to intending visitors.
I had also experienced how most visitors come unguided, ill-informed and consequently how they become frustrated. This did not only sell Nigeria as a whole in a bad way, but also left a horrible impression in the mind of the visitor.
I wanted to change this and enhance the visitor experience when they come to these tourist destinations. I wanted to help them visit easily, safely and economically!
The only way I could do this was to put high quality content out there on the internet. This was how the blog IK Hotel and Tours was birthed. I never thought of a business or making money. The only thing I wanted to do then was to offer especially first time visitors to Nigeria with useful, accurate and reliable information helpful for their trip. I never thought of a business, or even starting a company.
Fast-forward to today, and we are now Destinali, a full fledged company incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as Destinali Trip Planning Limited.
