Nigeria Visiting Visa Requirements

Before you start your Nigeria visiting visa application, you must have the following requirements:

  • A Valid Passport: You must have an international passport with at least 6 months validity (i.e., passport must not expire within six months from date of entry to Nigeria).
  • Recent Passport Photos: You must have two recently taken passport-sized photos (not older than three months). Passport should be on white background and 2 inches by 2 inches in size.
  • Evidence of Funds: You need to show evidence that you have enough money to support yourself financially throughout your stay in Nigeria. Proof of funds can be a bank account statement that shows you have enough money in your account to cover for the trip. This is usually a 3-months bank statement. It can also be a Sponsorship Letter by another person that confirms they will be financially supporting your trip to Nigeria. In order for this letter to be valid, it must be accompanied by a bank statement of the sponsor, not older than three months.
  • Evidence of accommodation in Nigeria: A document that shows where you will be accommodated throughout your stay in Nigeria. This can be a hotel reservation confirmation.
  • Round Trip Flight Itinerary Reservation: It must include dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Nigeria.
  • Letter of Invitation to Nigeria: A document from a host inviting you to Nigeria and accepting all immigration responsibilities for the period of your stay. The letter of invitation must include a valid Nigerian passport copy of the host.
  • Proof of Visa Application and Online Payment: You must fill the online visa application on the immigration portal and pay the visa fee online. A printout of the completed online application and payment receipt are required by the Consulate/Embassy before your visa can be approved.
