Not getting through on phone, app does not have option I require. Sending me my policy as if that's going to help
They deserve no stars. Absolutely useless, we have a valid claim due to storm damage, their own contractor done the assessment and sent the report and now we still awaiting approval from the bank's assessor after almost 2 weeks. They now sending a 2nd contractor for assessment to waste more time and probably try and cut cost. They are happy to take a monthly premium but not interested in providing a service.
They don't even deserve a 1 star rating!!! I have put in a claim for my geser on the 11th of December. It's been a month and a half with zero feed back. I have phoned numerous times with promises this will be resolved. No feed back and no responds just empty promises. HORRIBLE SERVICE !!!!! WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH
18 days later and still cannot get Std Bank to get their plumbers to fix leaks. In interim they have had to do 2 assessments/estimates.in beginning wanted cash settlement to use my plumber. Std Bank insisted money had to be pd into my deceased husbands bank account, despite me telling them this account is closed. I requested pmnt into SB bond, where insurance d/o is debited. SB refused. TO get job done had to use Std Bank plumbers who are still not on site. Bahananwa plumbers most unhelpful. My water bill is now sky high!
I am struggling to have the Agent to call me back. For the past 2days they return my calls at night around 22:30 while I am sleeping. The following day I called again yesterday and again they returned my calls at 20:30. I am struggling to log a claim with standard bank insurance.
I have been a loyal client of Standard Bank ever since I got my first bank account. I'm a private client yet I have been treated like dirt. We were subject to a burglary at our new home where the metal was stolen from all the pipes as well as kitchen fittings and bathroom fittings. We did our due diligence as homeowners to report the theft, get the claim number, submit photos etc when submitting the claim. Then silence. We then called and asked about the claim and it was finally handed over to Karabo Ratsofela. We have had to email and call numerous times to even get an update and plead with them to send inspectors. There was a huge broken window from the burglary which was only repaired after a week. We were waiting on the claim to be approved for three weeks. We have a six month old baby and were having to stay elsewhere because there was no water at our home. The plumber and electrician appointed by Standard Bank were actually contacting me to ask that I put pressure on the bank because they heard nothing after submitting quotes. Apparently the claim was been sitting with Sashin Chetty untouched...for almost two weeks! Are these the type of people Standard Bank hires? Behaviour like this should not be tolerated. I sat on the phone with Standard Bank while working my fulltime job for an entire day, after being fobbed off on 9 different people, no matter how many times I hear 'how can we help you?' all 9 people then say 'oh the only person who can help us sashin chetty'. Yet lo and behold not a single person at his place of employment can get ahold of him...for an entire day. And not even now because I still don't have feedback. The first person I spoke to on Monday, Dimakatso, said we'd have feedback during the course of the day, the entire day passed and we still didn't have feedback. We emailed Kabelo Ratsofela's team leader Yasmeen Larnie 5 days ago and only on Tuesday morning did she get back to us to say we'd get feedback 'during the course of the day'. Does Standard Bank work on a different timing convention where a day is actually equal to 12 days? Because that's how long it had been since our last update from Karabo. Monday night I spoke to Sonto (just Sonto, no surname given) who assured us the matter had been escalated to Sashin Chetty' s manager Mbongeni. The previous call I made, the operator also said she was going to email his manager now! But on Sonto's call there was no record of that happening. So did the Standard Bank operator lie to me? It's very concerning that representatives of Standard Bank can be so deceitful, untrustworthy and flippant. After posting about this on every single platform I could think of and sending more than 15 emails to various people at Standard Bank, the the same amount if not more calls, finally Mbongeni MB Nkumane, head of assessors, had to step in to approve the claim. The service providers, Cozoh Plumbing are excellent, and came through as soon as possible to do the work. However, Standard Bank, knowing that the kitchen sink (yes the burglars stole that too) needed to be replaced, still hasn't appointed a building contractor to cut the granite so we still have no water connection in the kitchen. UPDATE: I just received a call now from Karabo Ratsofela. She is completely unconcerned and unbothered. According to her, I should have no further issue because the claim was approved (this claim was finally approved on Tuesday evening). It doesn't matter that it was escalated right to the head of assessors because she couldn't manage her case herself. She also had the nerve to tell me 'well, a claim can take up to 25 days to get approved. If we don't get round to it that day, we will eventually get round to it'. So as long as it doesn't affect them, it really doesn't matter to them that a client may be thoroughly inconvenienced taking care of a six month old baby in a house with no running water and a broken electric fence. I personally believe Karabo Ratsofela should at least get a warning for this, it's not just her work that's shoddy but her ethics are questionable too.
Didn't have a great experience. Geyser burst, they responded quickly. Sent out Drips & leaks plumbers to assess and later exchange. Not the best installation, and they kept on harassing me for the excess payment while busy working (generally you pay once the work is done). I paid them before joining a meeting. plumbers sat in my driveway insisting on the excess payment (even though I had paid), unprofessional and bad bedside manner. Geyser power then kept on tripping post the new geyser installation, but plumbers were paid and couldn't care less. I emailed the insurance to notify them that we still didn't have hot water as the exchange job still isn't concluded. Only got automated emails back. No real replies or care to get is sorted. Had to contact a reputable professional to come and conclude their work. I feel like my money is just being taken.
Your voice prompts are TERRIBLE. It takes me over 4 minutes to just speak to an agent about asking why my account was over charged. And then to top it all off. It cut just before I got hold of a human. If you could improve your voice prompts system
Incompetent staff. Never seen such a trash insurance my whole life. I logged a funeral claim 5 days ago, they said they will call me, they never did. I called them so many times they don't pick up when they do they tell me they will escalate, yet they do not do. We cant prepare for my uncle's funeral now because of them. Standard bank insurance, it is as bad their banking app. They do not care about their customers. If you are paying for this insurance I advise you to stop now because you are wasting your money.
I strongly advise against using Standard Bank Insurance. My experience with a recent claim has been nothing short of appalling. After a valid claim on kitchen damage, their first assessor correctly noted that the entire kitchen must be replaced, as the cupboards are joined units and cannot be repaired in isolation without severely compromising aesthetics and value. However, Standard Bank did not like this outcome and proceeded to send a second assessor, who recommended a cheap, piecemeal repair that would leave my kitchen mismatched and visibly devalued β clearly not restoring it to its prior condition, as required by insurance standards. This conduct is not only unethical, itβs potentially unlawful. Under South African law: π Section 53 of the Short-Term Insurance Act states that an insurer is obliged to settle claims fairly and without unreasonable delay. π The Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) framework, enforced by the FSCA, requires that customers be provided with clear information and that they receive a product and service that performs as insurers have led them to expect. π The Consumer Protection Act (CPA), particularly Section 54, gives consumers the right to quality service and requires that repairs be done in a way that is fit for purpose and of good quality, free of defects, and that the service restores the product to a condition reasonably similar to its original state. Standard Bank Insurance has ignored these rights and instead rigidly follows policy wording even when it contravenes consumer protection and insurance law. I am now in the process of taking legal action against them to receive fair and lawful compensation. I urge everyone to avoid Standard Bank Insurance at all costs. Protect your assets and peace of mindβchoose an insurer who respects the law and their customers.
