Don’t use this company’s services. They find every excuse under the sun not to pay out, endless delay tactics. We have been trying for over two years to get our settlement with more delays and hoops to jump through, some of them are the same delay tactic just worded differently. Keep going Liberty you are just destroying your own reputation.
Requested assistance 29 May 2025 and was told to wait 5 working days. 7 weeks later and they still haven't bothered!!!! I was also planning on taking a Policy with them - hahaha not anymore!!!
Financial Advisors are quick to to react when yo want to buy a policy. Then they are all over you, following up and advising and doing all the things that require doing. But when you want to withdraw money, then you can wait until it suits them to help you, if they help you at all. And as for your call centre agents, they really need to be trained on how to deal with customers who are already agro that no one is getting back to them, as opposed to making it worse. I have been with Liberty since I started investing in my retirement. This is not how I expect to be treated now that I want to investigate my retirement withdrawal options.
Poor customer service, unhelpful, lack of knowledgeable agents/staff. Been struggling for 2 months to get help. Would give them a zero rating if I could.
A nightmare to say the least. 10 months since I made a request to make changes on my existing life policy. After several calls and email...still no help...holding for 15min+ only to be told by consultant that they don't have access to read the emails from underwriters. Same kind of feedback through the months. Only thing to do is cancel the policy. If I have such trouble getting information from them...imagine my kids trying to claim after my death??? Horrible service...long hold time...automated response talks too much instead of being transferred. Once on a call you have background noice of people screaming at eachother in conversation. Unprofessional. Been with you guys since 2009 but I'm cancelling everything!!!
Exorbitant charges and misleading advice. I decreased the debit order and called into the customer support centre and they charged me "activity fees" and "withdrawal fees" for decreasing the debit order. What is an activity fee? How is it justified? Are basic services such as answering my questions about my money and having autonomy over my monthly expenses worthy of the +-R3000 fee? The person servicing me said it would incur the least penalty to decrease the debit order and it still incurred a fee. Got this product because the financial advisor told me to--he did not explain the extra fees. He said we could stop the debit order should I decide it does not align with my goals. What's more, the platform is buggy. Here's my advice for anyone who reads this review: take your money and invest it somewhere else, even placing it in a money market account will likely give you less hassle.
Disgusting behaviour from security; tried enter underground parking as instructed by third party. Refused entry from security, which would be fine if they allowed turn-around but they insisted several vehicles must reverse into an intersection through a red robot. Guard got belligerent when I informed him that is illegal and to simply every to turn around safely.
Friendly and knowledgeable consultants. They have vast knowledge of the products. They are not just after selling the products but they want you as the customer to know how suitable the product is for your needs. They have variety of products tailored for everyone and their needs according to their level of affordability. Giving more insight makes it a bonus for the client. My visit was a learning experience.
I would give you zero stars if i could. I cancelled my policy with Liberty and moved it across to discovery as they offer 10x more returns. After i got confirmation that it was cancelled Liberty still debited me in the new month. Basically they have stole my money. I have made daily calls and fight to get my money back that they stole. I even filled in forms on the 13th June and still waiting. The service is shocking, You are just a number to them. I highly suggest not using Liberty and look at other options. Please watch out they will STEAL from you. On top of that i have had a retirement fund with them for over 10 years and the return is a joke. Discovery paid me a booster into my retirement for moving it across
