The fastest way to get a Nigerian visa is to apply for a visa on arrival (VoA). Yes, you can get a Nigerian visa on arrival.

If you have the requirements and do the needful, you can get a Nigerian visa on arrival (VoA) approval within one to two business days.

With a visa on arrival (which is sort of an e-visa), you don’t need a visit to the embassy. You only need to fill an online application, upload all required documents correctly, pay the visa fee and then wait for an approval letter from the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service.

But before you apply for Nigerian visa on arrival, you will require the following documents:

• A letter of self-introduction/application
• Flight itinerary (with a valid return ticket)
• Passport data page of applicant (with at least 6 months validity remaining)
• Two recent passport photographs
• An Invitation Letter from a registered/incorporated company or organization in Nigeria
• CAC (Corporate Affairs Commission) certificate (business registration/incorporation document) from the host company in Nigeria.

Getting a Nigerian Visa at the Embassy

Applying for a Nigerian visa at the embassy in your resident country takes way longer than getting a visa on arrival.

To apply for a visa to Nigeria at the embassy, you will need to meet the following requirements:

• Passport valid for at least 6 months with at least 2 blank visa pages for endorsement.
• Two recent passport photographs (white background)
• Evidence of sufficient funds (3 months bank statement)
• Address of host in Nigeria or hotel reservation confirmation
• Letter of Invitation from host in Nigeria.

The letter of invitation from a host in Nigeria must come with a valid Nigerian passport of the signatory (in case of an individual).

If, however, it is a company inviting you (such as Destinali), the letter must be accompanied by the company’s certificate of incorporation (CAC document).

1. Fill the online application form on the Nigerian Immigration website. After completion of application, print out the completed form and sign on it.
2. Proceed with payment of the visa fee (online) and print out the payment receipt.
3. Attach 2 passport sized photographs to completed Visa Form IMM22, along with the other requirements (letter of invitation, reservation confirmation, etc.) and submit to the Nigerian High Commission/Embassy/Consulate.
