Do I need to be tech-savvy to list my business?
Not at all. If you can fill in a WhatsApp message, you can create a Destinali listing. The process takes about 5 minutes from your phone: enter your business name, category, area, contact details, and a short description. No technical knowledge required. We also review every listing before it goes live, so if anything looks off we will reach out to help you fix it.
Is this actually free, or does the free listing expire?
It is genuinely free with no expiry date. Your listing stays on Destinali for as long as you want it, at zero cost. No trial period, no hidden fees, no credit card. There are paid Featured and Premium plans with additional benefits, but upgrading is entirely optional and the free listing never gets downgraded or removed.
My business does not have a website — can I still list?
Yes, and in fact most businesses on Destinali do not have a separate website. Your Destinali profile IS your web presence — a fast, mobile-optimised page that ranks in Google and has all the information a customer needs to contact you. Many Ugandan businesses use their Destinali URL the same way others use a website URL.
I already have a Facebook page. Why do I need this?
Facebook is great for building community, but it is not optimised for people who are actively searching for a service right now. When someone searches Google for 'dentist in Ntinda' or asks an AI assistant 'where can I get a reliable mechanic in Kireka?', Facebook pages rarely appear. Destinali is built specifically to rank for those local intent searches and to be cited by AI recommendation tools.
Is this only for Kampala businesses?
No — Destinali covers every city, town, and area in Uganda across all four regions. That includes Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, Gulu, Mbarara, Mbale, Masaka, Lira, Arua, Fort Portal, Kabale, Soroti, Tororo, Mukono, Wakiso, Kasese, and everywhere else. If your business serves customers in Uganda, you can list regardless of location.
What if I run more than one business?
You can create a separate listing for each business from the same account. Each listing is treated independently with its own profile, reviews, analytics, and contact settings. There is no limit on the number of free listings per account.
How do I get customers to leave reviews?
The most effective method is simply to ask. After completing a job or sale, send the customer a WhatsApp message with a link to your Destinali profile and ask them to leave a quick review. Most satisfied customers will do it when asked politely and given a direct link. Your dashboard shows your profile link so you always have it ready to share.
Can I pay in Uganda Shillings?
Paid plans are billed in USD via an international payment gateway. We show the Shilling equivalent on this page and at checkout before any payment is made. The free plan costs nothing in any currency.
How long until my listing appears in Google?
Destinali listings are indexed by Google quickly — typically within one to four weeks of going live. Long-tail search terms like 'reliable electrician in Ntinda' or 'guest house near Entebbe airport' often rank within the first month. Competitive terms in central Kampala may take longer, but the free listing starts building that authority from day one.
