CAC Certificate for Nigeria Visa Processing

So you want to process a Nigerian visa and you’ve been asked to present CAC certificate of the host company? Yes, it is a Nigerian visa requirement when you present a letter of invitation from a company.

What then does it mean? What is CAC certificate of host company and how can you get it in order to successfully process your visa to Nigeria?

CAC Certificate of Host Company Explained

CAC certificate is the company registration/incorporation document issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This document is proof that a company is duly registered and/or incorporated in Nigeria, and that the company has legal status.

Why and When is CAC Certificate of Host Company Required for Nigerian Visa Processing?

One of the mandatory Nigerian visa application requirements is a letter of invitation from an individual or company in Nigeria.

When a company gives you a letter of invitation, it means they agree to play host to you and accept full immigration rules and responsibilities regarding your visit and throughout the period of your stay.

To validate the invitation, the company is required by the Immigration to present proof of its legal existence. The only acceptable proof or evidence is the incorporation document, in this case a certificate of incorporation by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria.

For instance, if you get a letter of invitation to Nigeria from us, we will attach both the passport data page of the signatory to the letter and our company’s CAC certificate. This is what will make our invitation valid, otherwise it will be rejected by the Embassy/Consulate or Immigration.

A letter of invitation and CAC certificate of the host are not the only Nigerian visa requirements. Here are other things you will need in order to apply for a Nigerian visa:

  1. Passport valid for at least 6 months with at least 2 blank visa pages for endorsement.
  2. Two recent passport photographs (white background)
  3. Evidence of sufficient funds (3 months bank statement)
  4. Address of host in Nigeria or hotel reservation confirmation
  5. Letter of Invitation from host in Nigeria.

In essence, to get a CAC certificate from a host company in Nigeria, it means the company must also send you a letter of invitation.

CAC certificate of the host company is also required for a visa on arrival. Even though it is not compulsory for African passport holders applying for a Nigerian Visa on Arrival (VoA), it will significantly boost your chances of approval.

For all non African nationals applying for a Nigerian visa on arrival (VoA), you must present an invitation letter from a host in Nigeria with the CAC certificate. Without this, your chance of getting an approval is zero.

In a nutshell, whether you are processing a Nigerian visa at the embassy or getting a visa on arrival, you will need a letter of invitation.

A letter of invitation must come with the host passport copy or CAC certificate.

A letter of invitation without the passport data page of the host or certificate of company incorporation is not valid, and will be rejected by the Embassy and Immigration.

The CAC certificate of a host company is mandatory when you obtain a letter of invitation from a company. When it is an individual invitation, the host passport copy is required.

At Destinali, we issue both individual letter of invitation and company invitation letter depending on the exact needs of processing embassy/high commission.
